Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Leadership: Work with Network, DBA specialists, Cloud architects, and senior stakeholders to deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable cloud services in line with company’s overall infrastructure and cloud strategy.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, oversee vulnerability management for AWS environments, ensure compliance with security standards, and drive mitigation strategies for identified risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaboration with CCoE: Collaborate with the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) team to support and optimize cloud services, taking ownership of operational tasks and ensuring adherence to global standards.
  • Innovation and Strategic Growth: Actively identify and recommend innovative cloud technologies and solutions that enable business growth, improve productivity, reduce costs, and align with business change priorities. Engage in architecture discussions to integrate these innovations effectively.
  • Service Delivery and Availability: Ensure that Cloud infrastructure and platform services meet stringent SLAs and availability metrics. Proactively manage service performance and ensure issues are resolved swiftly within agreed SLAs.
  • Security, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity: Collaborate with IT security, Network, DBA teams, and external partners to ensure robust security measures, disaster recovery strategies, and business continuity plans are in place, tested, and optimized for cloud environments.
  • Cost Optimization and Resource Management: Responsible for cost optimization, and delivery of AWS resources, ensuring the environment is scalable, efficient, and in line with business plans.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring and Reporting: Implement and oversee comprehensive performance monitoring and reporting for cloud services, leveraging automation and analytics to ensure efficient operations and proactive issue resolution.
  • Governance and Audit Compliance: Lead participation in IT governance bodies, ensuring cloud infrastructure aligns with regulatory, compliance, and audit standards. Respond to internal and external audits with clear, actionable insights.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation: Continuously analyse risk related to cloud infrastructure, ensuring that potential vulnerabilities are addressed, and mitigation strategies are put in place.
  • Vendor Management and Commercial Responsibility: Manage relationships with cloud service providers, ensuring they meet contractual obligations, SLAs, and security requirements, while coordinating with the procurement team to optimize commercial arrangements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent is an advantage
  • WS SysOps Administrator – Professional or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ITIL and Agile methodologies

 

 

Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead cloud infrastructure projects, from design through execution, with a strong focus on security and scalability
  • Extensive experience in cloud security best practices, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation in AWS environments
  • Expertise in automation tools and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Excellent time management, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage high-impact changes in a global, multi-vendor environment

 

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and services (VPC, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.)
  • Understanding of cloud security controls, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and monitoring solutions
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of emerging cloud trends and innovations
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management and Agile methodologies

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management, with a focus on AWS
  • Track record in leading cloud migration projects and implementing secure, scalable cloud environments
  • Experience in vulnerability management and cloud security audits
  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams (security, network, database, service delivery)
  • Experienced in driving strategic cloud solutions for large, multinational organizations
