Auxiliary Engineer with Powerplant and Cost-out Development Expertise

A Snapshot of Your Day

In your work as a 9HL concept and cost-out development engineer of auxiliary, package and plant scope, you will be responsible to search for, develop and implement cost-out measures of the recently successfully introduced new 9HL frame. Basis for your success will be a close cooperation with the entire 9HL team, project execution and bidding teams to identify and implement cost-out measures. Your work is going to be directly impacting the cost competitiveness of the 9HL frame as a main revenue carrier of SE GS.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You drive cost out ideas (gather it and implement it).
  • You develop and implement design cost reduction measures on GT/ST/GN auxiliary, package (GT/GN/ST package) and power plant level (end to end responsibility).
  • You drive lessons learned implementation of projects in execution and power plants in operation together with project and service organization.
  • You develop technical features to provide additional customer value.
  • You are being highly integrated part of the 9HL team by close alignment with package and power plant leads, strategic procurement, cost-out as well as auxiliary and power plant development teams.

What You Bring

  • You hold a college degree within related engineering fields of power generation.
  • You have at least 5 years experiences of power plant engineering.
  • You have experiences of cost value engineering and/or procurement (advantageous).
  • You understand well the cost-out approach (cost awareness).
  • You understand well the technology of combined cycle power plants, package (GT/GN/ST package) and auxiliaries across all engineering disciplines.
  • You bring strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities along with organizational (interdisciplinary and international teams), project and time management skills.
  • You understand well the specific needs of leading a R&D project (quite volatile, parallel engineering, 80/20 approach).
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • You can work individually and be pro-active as well as a team member in an international and hybrid (face to face and/or virtual) environment.
  • Advantageous would be SCRUM, lean management and agile skills.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
