is seeking a professional in the following position: 

Human Resources Assistant

(Performance Management)

in the Human Resources Office (HRO)

The Human Resources (HR) Assistant manages post’s Locally Employed (LE) Staff Performance Management and Merit Based Compensation (MBC), training, and employment supporting services. The position oversees the MBC Program including program administration, outreach, calculations, and reporting. Portfolio also includes LE Staff Training, Employee action processing and assists with recruitment. This is a fast-paced job, requiring attention to detail and the ability to communicate well. The HR team is centered on customer service: we want to take care of our staff and this job is key to accomplishing that objective. This Human Resources (HR) Assistant executes specific duties to support the Locally Employed (LE) Staff and U.S. direct hire (USDH) at post.
Extracts information from various automated and written files to generate a variety of recurring draft reports and statistical data for the HR section.


  • Complementation of two years of general college studies is required.
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or administrative field is required.
  • Level IV (Fluent) English and Hungarian is required in both oral and written communication. English and/or Hungarian language may be tested.
  • Knowledge of general office management practices and procedures and knowledge of job evaluation, concepts and principles is required. Incumbent must have knowledge of Human Resources practices, good working knowledge of local labor and social security laws as well as recruitment prevailing practices and customs. 
  • The full performance level of this position is also expected to have detailed knowledge of USG policies, regulations, Job holder will have a working knowledge of performance management, Merit Based Compensation (MBC) principles, and Awards policies.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, and Internet) is required. Incumbent must have understanding of mathematical formulas for preparing statistical reports on various elements of data analysis. Strong writing skills to produce and update complex reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence are required. Incumbent must have excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person, telephone contacts and must be organized, diligent and able to work under pressure. Good interpersonal relationships are required.
  • The full performance level of this position is also expected to have skills in using proprietary software directly related to their job duties such as Overseas Personnel System (OPS), Electronic Recruitment Application (ERA), etc.



HUF annual gross 7,065,721 plus additional benefits. Locally Employed Staff receive a 13th month bonus, performance related annual awards, American paid holidays and free access to Gym.
